We know their daughters by first name. Their styles are unique, often emulated, sometimes trashed. But just where did these ladies learn about walking in heels or putting on make up? Jo Miller – mother to Sienna Miller – nonchalant swagger, keen eye for detail, prefers a slightly avant garde twist. Matching (natural) blondes might have people asking is that your sister?
Tina Knowles – mother to Beyonce Knowles – Where’d Beyonce get that bootylicious body from? She got it from her mama. Tina Knowles started designing clothes for her daughters early performances at shopping malls. Fast forward today, the mother daughter couple have been working on House of Dereon, which much like this mother-daughter duo, is unafraid to be bold.
Twiggy – mother to Carly – modeling runs in the family. Twiggy’s boyish frame started a ‘thin is in’ revolution in the fashion world. Her daughter has made a name for herself, modeling, but also getting involved first hand, designing prints for Stella McCartney.
Anna Wintour – mother of Bee Shaffer – Bee’s sense of style is a little more risky, but why not go out on a limb when your mother literally dictates what’s acceptable among the fashion crowd? People would be slow to judge when your mom is Anna Wintour. I bet she gets the first copies of every Vogue ever… jeals!
